| JUST FOR THOUGHT
People learn by hearing, seeing, and doing, and the lessons that we have learned in life determine the ways we think about every aspect of our lives. Because every action that we take is first initiated by a thought, then what we remember about those lessons that we learned is extremely significant to the courses of actions that we will take in future situations. If we cannot remember the lesson, then we cannot learn from it, and consequently, we cannot take the appropriate action. Since people learn by hearing, seeing, and doing, then repetition is a strong basis for memory. This is why it is easier to learn something that you practiced over and over again as opposed to something that you looked over once. For this same reason, however, practicing the wrong thing can lead to erroneous action. Imagine if you learned that dog is spelled c-a-t, and you spend hours practicing this spelling. When the spelling test comes, you will spell it the way that you practiced, and you will get the answer wrong. If memory is established without the appropriate understanding or based on false information, then our actions will also be inappropriate. Saints, this is the precise reason why it is important to hear the word of GOD repeatedly, to read the word of GOD repeatedly, to live the word of GOD repeatedly, and to confess the word of GOD repeatedly. As Romans 10:17 says, faith comes or increases by hearing and understanding the word of GOD. Romans 12:2 (NLT): Do not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let GOD transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what GOD wants you to do, and how good and pleasing and perfect HIS will really is. |
